A tech corridor inside the SFRA, verified address by address.
Herndon packs office and commercial campuses, industrial and flex buildings, data centers, and HOA and townhome communities into a few square miles inside the Washington DC Special Flight Rules Area, minutes from Dulles. We verify your parcel's airspace before we promise a date, then fly radiometric thermal and high-resolution visual capture across 100% of the surveyed surface.

- CELLS
- Per-parcel. Herndon and Reston area cells have logged 400 ft — pulled for your parcel's centroid and corners, not for the town.
- COUNTY
- Fairfax County
Herndon sits inside the DC SFRA, so operations run under FAA authorization with NOTAM discipline. Inside the SFRA the standing UAS security NOTAM is VMC-only and bars night, so flights are scheduled in daytime and twilight windows. Altitude is set by your parcel's cell ceiling or Part 107's 400-foot limit, whichever is lower. The DC FRZ clips the eastern edge of Fairfax County, well east of Herndon; that airspace is out of scope for our aerial work and we decline it at intake.

What we inspect in Herndon.
Office and commercial campuses
Mid-rise and campus-scale buildings along the tech corridor, where roof assemblies, envelope insulation, and rooftop mechanical all age on the same schedule as the leases. Thermal separates the cosmetic wear from the expensive kind.
Industrial and flex buildings
Large low-slope roofs over warehouse and flex space. Moisture under membrane that looks intact from the ground reads clearly in thermal — located by section, with the image pair attached, before it spreads.
Data centers and colocation
Heat rejection, cooling plants, and the electrical gear that feeds them. Thermal capture reads which cooling cells are carrying load unevenly and which connections are running warm — as scope for your maintenance team, not as a fix.
HOA and townhome communities
Townhome clusters, clubhouses, and community buildings across Herndon. One pass produces a reserve-study-grade record for boards deciding where next year's roof budget goes, without anyone on a ladder.

We come back with the cell ceiling, the authorization path, and the flight windows that apply to that specific parcel — before anyone talks about scheduling.
Herndon, answered.
Can you fly in Herndon? Herndon is inside the DC SFRA.
Yes — Herndon measures 17.6 NM from the DCA VOR/DME, inside the 30-mile Special Flight Rules Area, and it is core service area for us. SFRA operations run under FAA authorization with NOTAM discipline, which is part of every site's setup rather than an afterthought. We verify the specific parcel before we commit to a date.
What altitude will you fly over our campus, and who decides that?
The FAA does, in two steps. First the ceiling published for your parcel's grid cell; then Part 107's 400-foot limit — whichever is lower. Herndon and Reston area cells have logged 400 feet, but that is an area reading, not your building's answer, so we pull your parcel's cell at the centroid and corners. Where the profile needs to sit above the cell ceiling, the request goes through the FAA's manual authorization path and we file early.
Can you fly at night to catch thermal contrast?
Inside the SFRA, no — the standing UAS security NOTAM limits operations to clear-weather daylight. Thermal contrast does peak in the hours after sunset, so for parcels verified outside the SFRA we schedule night capture; for Herndon parcels we plan around twilight and dry-day windows, which still produce strong ΔT separation on a wet roof.
We manage a townhome community here. What does one pass actually give the board?
A geolocated thermal and visual record of every roof section in the community, with moisture and heat-loss areas mapped to the buildings they sit on and ranked by severity. Boards use it as the condition baseline behind a reserve study, and as the scope document when it comes time to solicit roofing bids — each finding travels with its image pair and measurement.
Our buildings are occupied. How does the flight work around tenants and staff?
The aircraft is remotely piloted and stays off the ground footprint — capture happens over roofs and mechanical yards, and our remote pilot launches every flight from a position we agree with you in advance. We coordinate access, parking, and any no-fly zones around active work with your facilities contact. You get a mutual NDA by default, and we do not publish client sites, tenant names, or findings.
Who acts on what you find?
Your own contractors and maintenance team. Jinki inspects only and performs no remediation — so the report carries no conflict of interest, and every finding arrives with the image pair and measurement attached.
