Roughly forty-six million square feet of data-center space, read parcel by parcel.
Loudoun County is the densest concentration of critical load anywhere in the country, and it publishes roughly 46 million square feet of data-center space inside its lines. Most of that footprint sits inside the Washington DC Special Flight Rules Area, where flight altitude is a cell-by-cell fact and every mission runs under FAA authorization. We verify your parcel's airspace before we promise a date, then fly radiometric thermal and high-resolution visual capture across 100% of the surveyed surface.

- Inside the DC SFRA across the eastern and central county
- POSTURE
- Served with FAA authorization
- CELLS
- Per-parcel. Logged ceilings across the corridor run from 150 ft at the Chantilly-adjacent edge through 300 ft and 350 ft to 400 ft, with at least one 0-ft cell — and adjacent grid squares differ. We pull your parcel's cell at its centroid and corners.
- COUNTY
- Loudoun County
The eastern and central county sits inside the DC SFRA; the far-western side, toward Purcellville and Middleburg, is outside it. Inside the SFRA the standing UAS security NOTAM is VMC-only and bars night, so flights are scheduled in daytime and twilight windows. Controlled airspace requires prior FAA authorization, and altitude is set by your parcel's cell ceiling or Part 107's 400-foot limit, whichever is lower; where the profile needs more, the request goes through a manual FAA path and we file early. The DC FRZ is out of scope for our aerial work.

What we inspect in Loudoun County.
Hyperscale and colocation campuses
Roof assemblies, cooling plants, and electrical yards across campuses where unplanned downtime is measured in millions. Thermal capture finds wet insulation, cooling losses, and connections running warm before they reach a status page.
Cooling towers and heat rejection
Fouled fill, blocked airflow, and distribution losses read as temperature signatures from the air. Aerial thermal shows which cells are carrying load unevenly — the difference between a cleaning and a rebuild.
Industrial, flex, and commercial roofs
Large low-slope assemblies along the Route 28 and Route 7 corridors and through the Leesburg commercial core. Moisture trapped under intact membrane is invisible from the ground and obvious in thermal — located by section, before it becomes a tear-out.
HOA and planned communities
Townhome clusters and community buildings across the Brambleton and Broadlands corridor. One pass produces a reserve-study-grade record for boards deciding where next year's roof budget goes.
Agricultural land and outbuildings
Barns, equipment sheds, and long-roof houses on the county's western acreage — outside the SFRA and outside the usual inspection routine. Findings are ranked the same way as a data hall's, because the mechanism is the same.

Loudoun County, answered.
Can you fly anywhere in Loudoun County?
Nearly everywhere, with authorization — but never as a blanket answer. The eastern and central county sits inside the DC SFRA; the far-west side, toward Purcellville and Middleburg, is outside it. Distances from the DCA VOR/DME run from 23.8 NM at the Ashburn end to 35.8 NM at the western end, and the ceiling that applies to your parcel can differ from the one on the next grid square. We verify the specific parcel before we commit to a date.
What altitude ceiling applies over our campus?
We do not quote the county a single number, because there isn't one. Logged ceilings across the corridor run from 150 feet at the Chantilly-adjacent edge through 300 and 350 feet to 400 feet, with at least one 0-ft cell — and adjacent grid squares differ. We pull your parcel's cell at its centroid and corners. Where the profile needs to sit above the cell ceiling, the request goes through a manual FAA path and we file early.
What does a 0-ft cell actually mean?
That no automated approval is available at that location — it routes to a manual FAA review instead. It is a routing fact, not a verdict. We file early, and we do not promise a date before the authorization is in hand.
How does the authorization process work in controlled airspace?
Controlled airspace requires prior FAA authorization. LAANC handles automated approvals up to the ceiling published for your grid cell; anything above that, and any waivered operation, routes through FAADroneZone, which is a manual review. Authorizations are location-specific and time-limited, so they are part of every site's setup rather than a one-time formality.
Can you fly at night over a Loudoun County site?
Inside the SFRA, no — the standing UAS security NOTAM limits operations to clear-weather daylight, and the great majority of the county is inside it. Thermal contrast does peak in the hours after sunset, so we plan twilight and dry-day windows, which still produce strong ΔT separation across a wet roof or a loaded cooling plant.
How does this work with a commissioning schedule?
Well. A thermal baseline captured before a hall is energized becomes the reference the rest of the building's history gets measured against. We are used to working around energized equipment and active construction, and we coordinate with your commissioning agent rather than around them.
Do you publish findings or cite us anywhere?
No. You get a mutual NDA by default, findings are prepared for you and your contractors, and we do not publish client sites, tenant names, or findings. The severity-ranked report is written as scope, not as a sales pitch.
